BSG Pilots — There is plenty of back story and plot indicators Ken. The heads,the visions, the pythian prophecies, lords of Kobol, Kara dying and coming back as a human, and now the mysterious song. I don't think there will be literal Beings of Light like the old show but something like the heads we've seen all along. It's either a BOL like higher power or some kind of cylon tech that will answer the remaining questions.

BSG Pilots — Actualy the Ship of Lights has been used, at least a representation of the SOL. The visions of Head Elosa and Head Leoben share similarities with the BOL dimension were the TOS characters interact with the Beings. The rebel base ship was in fact a parallel to the SOL. I wrote a massive comparison of War of the Gods, Faith, and The Hub a few months ago. It should be under dawg's BOL thread in the Film room. I agree they simply dropped aliens from RIS. But there are representations of some of the alines. For example the Sagitarions are the Bromaman(SP?), however you spell it. The brutish human like religious nuts.

BSG Pilots — Reading bear's blog this week he mentioned that Islanded will have an extended edition on DVD. He said there was a plot where Tyrol was thrown in the brig that was cut. He also said it's hard to write his blogs because he works on bother extended and TV versions of episodes. From the rumblings I've heard from writer intererviews and now Bear it sounds like we will get a number of extended episodes on the DVD.
