OK just a quick one since I have only watched it once so far. I think Adamas flash back reminded him what he lost in his son. That is allowing him to look at it as a father rather than an admiral. The old man is loosing everything that is dear to him, his woman, his ship, his people, Earth so he has nothing to loose. He is doing one selfless act to help one little girl and her parents to let him, Roslyn, and the Galactica go out with a bane and in a blaze of glory. As for Baltar, Yes if he had crossed the line it would have been a real shocker and against his nature but I do think the writers have a Gods plan for him. OK I am writing after watching a few times and trying to pick up on as much as I can. Rather than do something like I usually do Im just going to expand on my notes so it will be in more chronological order of the show. I have also watched the special that was on Monday night and it had some hints in it as well. I am starting off with that. They hinted in the special that Adama was going to fly the last viper off Galactica. This leads me to believe that even if she gets destroyed as I suspect he will be the last one off the ship like a good Commander of a ship.
