... good one, and spent much of the evening wandering round the apartment with a huge green towel over his head peering at things upside down on a baking parchment screen. There are now bits of cardboard and duct tape and tools all over the place, but I suppose it's a small price to pay for an engagement with education and an interest in the arts. Half a Crown is on the Locus Recommended Reading List along with a lot of very good things, and can be voted for in the Locus Poll.

I’m on the ballot again this year, three times: Little Brother (Best Young Adult), The Things That Make Me Weak and Strange Get Engineered Away (Best Novelette) and True Names (with Benjamin Rosenbaum, Best Novella). Looking at this year’s nominees, it’s clear that I’m in damned good company.
