  So I never saw the original, but after watching the pilot, I think I could get into this. I do have to make fun of it a bit everytime he walks into the street, though (It's the 70s...!!!!!!!!)

  "Instead of the original show’s three theories (“Am I a time traveller, am I insane, or am I in a coma, and this is all in my head?”), apparently Sam will eventually come up with as many as thirteen different possibilities, which he will proceed to discard as the show progresses."

  13 is a lot. I really appreciate the depth of this post, though. He makes a good point that Americans seem to be keen on stretching originally much shorter British shows.

I had much the same reaction has he, but I also felt the American show felt rushed, probably due to the fact that the U.S. show has about 15 less minutes to tell the story. Still, cautiously optimistic, but the part about a more convoluted reason to the 'time travel' isn't endearing. ...
