    Ah, this was a great article. Worth it to read to the end:

    "His legacy from the show, Davies believes, will be profound. 'Six-year-olds will watch it when they're 66, and it will look old-fashioned and two-dimensional and strange, but they'll sit there with a great big smile on their face because of that lead actor. I think they will look at David and think, blimey, it's not just a rose-tinted view of childhood, I was right, he was brilliant.'"
