News briefs: Third Langdon film due, Transformers on DVD

Variety reports that Columbia Pictures is moving forward on a third installment of the Robert Langdon franchise, based on Dan Brown's books; Brown has announced that his next installment of the series is The Lost Symbol , which will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Doubleday on Sept. 15. ... Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce Lions, Tigers and Bears , based on a comic book, for Paramount Pictures, Variety reported. ... Shout! Factory, in collaboration with Hasbro, will release a DVD box set of the first season of the original Transformers animated TV series in a 25th anniversary edition on June 16; Michael Bay's feature-film sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen , opens June 24.
