Variety reported that Summit Entertainment has tapped Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona to direct Eclipse , the third movie in the Twilight vampire series, confirming a rumor that appeared on The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business blog.
Summit, which had no comment Wednesday, is expected to make the official announcement soon. The studio recently gave Eclipse a release date of June 30, 2010.
Bayona's a protege of Guillermo del Toro and directed the Spanish-language horror-thriller The Orphanage , which was executive-produced by del Toro.

The blog cites anonymous sources; the studio declined to comment, and a representative said producers were looking at a number of candidates, the blog reported.
